Music is such a diverse topic, but one aspect we can all agree on is that it is a common denominator.

It has the ability and potential to shape ideas and even form new ones. Probably, because music does not get created in a vacuum but rather gets influenced by old, and unknown to create the new. How important is music is in our daily lives and the world and what is its influence on our lives.

For generations, it has been intertwined with joy, sadness, history, power and countless emotions, around the world. Therefore, getting into the history and origins of music would be an endless journey/ What we however know is that it is needed in society like the air we breathe to live this life. Music as a contributor to the welfare and development of societies in our current age.

Music is an integral factor in our lives today. It has the power to affect our mood, reduce stress, language development and how well we study, some might even arue that it inspires change and alters perceptions.

Music has the ability ability to ‘unite’. With all the vastly different music genres from pop to rap and even slow jazz, people share interests regarding particular styles, songs and artists. Beneath the surface of what music is, it brings people together. Much like the meaning behind lyrics in a song, music benefits us and our communities in more ways than what meets the ear. It includes the shaping of cultural identity, improving memory and much more.

However as a society, the emotional benefits that it has, is totally underestimated. Music makes the world  go around, not only money as promoted through popular belief.  Continually, music is key to one’s creativity which can influence other aspects of life and people’s mental and even physical health.

In conclusion, music is the language of the universe. Like mathematics it doesn’t have multiple characters or symbols across different languages, it's all the same. In music, the language may change but that doesn’t change the rhythm, the genre, the instruments or how it makes people feel. The rhythm and the beat is what unify nations across the world.
